Since its founding in San Diego, California almost 20 years ago, over a million pairs of readers and sunglasses designed by MicroVision Optical have sold worldwide.

We created some of the first ultra-convenient, foldable, collapsible, and wearable readers. Our new Flat Fold Ion is the latest example of our patented, first-to-market products like our Original Mini Reader, The Executive, and our other Folding Readers.

MicroVision Optical was an early proponent of the use of blue light-blocking glasses and readers. We designed and manufactured some of the first commercially successful blue light eyewear. Our new Blue Light line of glasses and readers has all the superior technology and style we always build into our eyewear.

In 2022, we began a new direction for our company. We now only sell our MicroVision Optical eyewear directly to consumers.

Today most eyewear brands are owned by just three global corporations. MicroVision Optical is different – we’re still owned by our founder. And our core beliefs; a commitment to creative design and a fierce dedication to quality still guide our corporate mission as we approach our third decade in the eyewear business.
